Quintin 1XV vs Mill Hill  (33 - 15)

Q’s got the first league points this year with a well deserved win that was more comfortable than the score suggests, coming back from a marginal half time deficit to cruise the last ten minutes.

The day was not remarkable for the win though but for the sight as rare as a yeti or UFO sighting or for a premiership footballer to stay on his feet when tackled. Faced with a two on one John Sanger actually passed the ball! For those of you falling of your chairs at the moment let me just re-iterate that, he did not chip the ball aimlessly, he did not start running round in circles, he did not take the tackle and then try and loop an outrageous pass out of the back of the hand. He simply stood the man up and popped the ball for Will to score.

Will got two tries in the day as did Sanger, earning him the man of the match award, but be under no illusion this was for his first moment of selfishness not his two very well taken scores.

The forwards gave a great platform with Q’s dominating the Scrummaging against a far heavier pack. Damo added the other try in customary fashion, in all honesty this man is a try scoring machine but the combined distance of the tries he has scored in career must barely be the length of a pitch. Sepand was the guilty party for popping the ball to him rather than touching down himself, it seems this Sanger thing is catching!
