Feltham I...Feltham II...and Civil Service II... v Quintin Professionals...no bloody contests !!
This was the week after the nadir of our season..... The Professionals arrived in good time for the 2pm ko....but Feltham were not so keen....even though they had borrowed some of their 1s......they had to borrow some spare Civil Service IIs, who didn't even have the decency to remove their Civil Service shorts and socks....
..Kick-off at precisely 14:08....we scored first, I think....they scored...then we scored again, apparently....detail is lacking here....but by half time....we were in the lead and the Feltham peasants, so called by General Munro of Putney and The Borderers, had lost their collective rag...started kicking defenceless Antipodeans, when they were on the ground....we kept our composure....
..However, the second half started badly....Shutt and others lost their temper..started chatting back at the ref....we were docked yards at penalties etc...a little unfairly, as the Feltham proles were openly swearing in his face!
But all was not lost....we scored again twice...and should have scored more....but were not on the front foot in the last quarter...as they scored their 3rd and final try....French Alex came on and provided some composure on the wing with a brilliant take of the high ball...40m run up the wing..only to be stopped by a high-tackle on their 22....some of our best play came in this last 10 minutes..when Sammy and others played very intelligently to keep the ball in their half...
Game over! We won....tough scrums...we won no scrums in the second half.....great rucking and close quarters defence....excellent line outs...Nick had a great game, running back into the fray from high-balls.....Dylan fought hard...Munro the Chav shouted his mouth off, as usual, for a man with such high-breeding..he's a bit ooofffff! Ant was a great find...Rushton and Wrigley held the scrum well..but their hooker and tight-head were too strong...Aussie Russ and Olly didn't quite figure out that they played in the wrong formation but we will know for next time....
....All round, everybody gave everything...and against reasonable opposition we should have won by more...
Talentfree forgot to tell the recidivists where we were having after match grub and drinks...but they eventually found us at Fullers...and we shared the comestibles and departed to the Xmas bush tucker engagement satisfied with ourselves!

Man of the Match : Todd - did his bit.....and for once, didn't spit on anyone... must have been dehydrated!
Honourable Mention : Ant - for debut try and good defence/ attack Graham - for stepping up and some good rucking Alex - for a great run and some good defence
Girl of the Match : Nick - for playing well...but Gordon said 'he kicked too much!'...the old prat, what does he know!.....Really, it was Talentfree. again....but he was driving..ponce!
