Founded in 1885, Quintin RFC is one of the oldest surviving Rugby Clubs in West London. Playing at the Civil Service Sports Groundnear Chiswick Bridge, QRFC compete in the Middlesex County Leagues and draw players from nearby Chiswick, Richmond, Hammersmith, Shepherd's Bush, Fulham, Putney and Clapham.
Quintin's infamy has now spread and players gather from all corners of London and beyond every Saturday to run off a hangover before triggering a string of events that will inevitably result in a greater one.
In an age of professional rugby, Quintin stands out as a bastion of all that was and still is good about the Amateur game.
Selection is not based on attendance at training

Rugby enriches our lives every Saturday but unfortunately we are forced to work Monday to Friday to pay for our post match drinking. Many of us work long hours in the city, unsociable hours for the Met or 400+ miles from home in Cumbria and so cannot train but we take great pride beating sides who train twice a week (drilling out any flair they had) with our unique brand of passionate free-flowing 15 man Rugby.
Rugby is a running game played by 15 players
We all turn up so we all should get our hands on the ball (except Coxy and Why - we don't pass them the ball for their own safety).
Win, lose, draw - we go drinking
"If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the
same... Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!' - a few seasons back in the dark days of Quintin Rugby we shocked the players and supporters of St. Nicks Old Boys when having lost by less than 3 points for the third week running, we celebrated remaining bottom of the league before issuing our pack leader (who had taken a quick tap on the 22 in front of the posts in the last minute!) with the 'tie' and force feeding him a half-yard of ale.
We are a touring rugby club
Little is asked of our players. We do however expect that you make one weekend in April available for the Tour. Recent times have seen us in such Rugby hotbeds of Krakow, Heidelburg, Eindhoven, Antwerp, Le Touquet and Cork. Last season we toured to Budapest and we are unbeaten in the Baltics seeing off both Sarajevo and a Croatian all-star team a few seasons back. We're off to Europe again in 2010, unless Gordon is late to the airport with the tickets again.
